Update #2

Leonicia has really progressed so well over these last couple of weeks!

She is able to stand on her right leg using a walker. Her food restrictions have been removed and she is happy about it. This week, Leonicia graduated from an intense rehab facility to an acute rehabilitation facility, which is such great news. She has settled in nicely and she is glad to be one step closer to going home.  In rehab, a team of providers has been working with Leonicia to help her heal and regain full usage of her body.

Leonicia and her mother are very grateful for all of the love, prayers, support and encouragement they have received from all of you.  Leonicia welcomes visitors!  Please contact us as lovingonleo@gmail.com to obtain facility information.

Praise Reports:  We continue to praise God, our Healer, for Leonicia's life!  We are also thankful for such quick physical healing, especially her ability to stand on that right leg!  Doctors report that in a few weeks they may even be able to remove her brace from her left leg.  We are thankful that Leonicia's progress has allowed her to move from high levels of care toward increasing independence.  We are also grateful for every donation and prayer so generously offered by you all.

Prayers Requests:  We boldly pray for complete healing of Leonicia's body and minimal psychological or physical repercussions.  We pray for the wisdom and care of her healthcare team.  We pray for peace and strength for Leonicia, her mother, and her support network.  We pray for continued provision (financial, emotional, and otherwise).

Needs:  Please donate here to help with Leonicia's medical expenses.  Please share this website or the gofundme page with your friends and family.  Please pray.  If you would like to contribute in another way on inquire about visiting information, please email us at lovingonleo@gmail.com.

Blessings,

Update #1

Leonicia was immediately airlifted to Loma Linda University Hospital following the crash.  She suffered two broken legs, broken ribs, and had bleeding in her brain.  Since then, Leonicia has been able to open her eyes, move her toes and hands, and even say a few words!  Praise God!  Her breathing tube has been removed and she is able to breathe on her own.  MRI scans have shown a decrease in the bleeding in her brain but there is still a ways to go in her recovery in this area.  Because of the miraculous progress she has made in such a short time, Leonicia has been moved to a hospital that specializes in brain trauma.  Here, she will be able to have some visitors, in moderation.

Leonicia's mother, Debra, is currently staying with her during her recovery.  Debra has been faithfully supported in this process by Leonicia's good friends and family.  Her church families of One Church and Pasadena Church have also been instrumental in addressing the spiritual and material needs of Leonicia and Debra.

Praise Reports:  First, we praise God, our Healer, for Leonicia's life!  We are so thankful for each breath, each word, every hand movement, and every little victory.  We are thankful for the dedication and skill of the first responders, doctors, and nurses.  We are thankful for God's provision through means and through people.  We are thankful for the opportunity for Leonicia to receive care from doctors who specialize in traumatic brain injury.
